27. Checklist

Tick what you've seen consistently for at least 6 months, in more than one setting (home and school). Many of these behaviours are common in childhood. What matters is a persistent pattern, across settings, that is causing distress or difficulty.

Constant motion

Climbing, running, fidgeting where they shouldn't.

Can't wait their turn

Bursts in, blurts out, struggles with queues and games.

Talks non-stop

Interrupts, finishes others' sentences, hard to listen back.

Big emotions

Meltdowns over small things. Slow to recover, fast to flip.

Loses everything

Coats, water bottles, school books. Daily.

Forgets simple instructions

Asked to do three things, does one, forgets the rest.

Hyper-focuses on play

Locked into a game, impossible to redirect to dinner.

Trouble at bedtime

Wired late, exhausted in the morning, refuses to sleep.
